Description
This lovely and complicated Breguet is not only equipped with a perpetual calendar and power reserve, but also contains a complication known as an equation of time. This complication shows the difference between "true" solar time and "mean" solar time. The "mean" solar time refers to common time, based on a conventional twenty-four hour period, while "true" solar time varies with the earth's irregular orbit around the sun. The two times are only equal on four days a year. This complication is very rarely seen and its display is incorporated beautifully on the dial layout of the present watch.
Condition Report
The watch is in very good condition with some light surface scratches. The case back has two scratches that appear to have been made by a tool. The dial and hands are in excellent condition. The date wheel has yellowed. The deployant clasp shows some light signs of wear. The movement and quick-set functions are working at the time of cataloging.
